What do you do when you are being yelled at by an unhappy customer, seller or buyer of your goads and services?
Normally we do one of two things
1/When someone is yelling at you, we tend to yell back which provides the same result as
pouring petrol onto a bushfire
2/ We ask the person to stop yelling who will not, as they feel they are winning and
“have you up against the ropes” as the expression goes.
The way to solve the situation and take control is thru good questions
Me: Your angry, aren’t you?
Them: Yes, I am
Me: Being angry, has it gotten you the result you want?
Them: No, not at all
Me: I agree…(smiling)
This positioning makes the customer realise the futility of their methods in order to get
the desired outcome.
All the best to you in these strange times.
